Louis started his practice in 1990 as Louis H.K. Ma, Certified Public Accountants, registered under the Hong Kong Society of Accountants (predecessor of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants) providing quality professional services.

Today, equipped with 30 years of extensive experience in various industries around the globe, Louis also provides consulting services to boards of directors in private and public companies, on group and corporate restructuring, and on corporate governance & advisory, with strong business acumen & professional expertise.

Louis started his career as an auditor in one of the ‘big 4’ accounting firms before he moved to the commercial world. He has hands on experience in the petrochemical, industrial manufacturing, natural resources and automobile industries. He had been in line functions running businesses with full profit & loss responsibilities, in staff functions managing finance & controls, planning and analysis, corporate finance and human resources. He was in charge of business developments exploring into new markets, new products, and new strategic alliances. He is a trusted advisor to CEOs and CFOs who leverage on his experience in both managerial and professional capacities.

During his career, Louis lived in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the United States. His previous executive appointments include chairman of the board, chief executive officer, independent non-executive director, chief financial officer and company secretary of listed companies in Hong Kong. His regional roles in Asia Pacific included managing director, CFO, director of business development and General Manager. He was a Finance Director in Taiwan for a company listed in the US.

Louis is a seasoned multinational executive experienced in mergers and acquisitions, joint-venture and alliances negotiations and integrations. He specializes in financial and strategic management, both in a US multinational and Hong Kong listed company environment.
